Just Rock Ipswich proudly hosts a number
of annual Ipswich events:
LONDY'S DINER
JRI hosted the inaugural Londy's Diner in March 2004. This event celebrates
Ipswich's history. Londy's Cafe was first established in Ipswich the 1920's
on the site now occupied by the Ipswich Cinemas. The Ipswich Show Grounds
Function Hall became "Londy's Diner" complete with heaps of
memorabilia including original photos of Londy's Café, and food to suit the
era (hamburgers, waffles and ice-cream, and spiders). Almost 100 classic
cars cruised in to the Show Grounds, from various locations around
Brisbane.
JRI members and hundreds of visitors from the community, ate, danced the
night away and had a merry time.

CAR ENTRY FORM
JRI has hosted this very successful event for the past 18 years. The
2011 event involved almost 300 cars from local Ipswich, Brisbane Toowoomba,
Granite Belt and both Coast's Car Clubs. Many of these cars were awarded
trophies in a range of categories, donated by generous business in and
around Ipswich. The event included a 'collectable market'. A Rock and Roll
Band entertained 'Rock'n' Rollers' as well as the
thousands of people who visited the show . This is
a nostalgic event not to be missed.
Thanks must go to all the Sponsors, the Ipswich City Council for the use
of their facilities, and JRI members who helped with the organisation of
the day. A very special thank-you must go to the car owners, who travelled
from as far a field as Roma, the Sunshine Coast,
Gold Coast, Brisbane and a very strong Ipswich contingent, without their
involvement, the day would not be possible.

JRI DINNER DANCE (members only)
Each year, JRI members have the pleasure of attending the annual JRI
Dinner Dance. This dance promises something different each year - with a
guarantee of a great time every year. The theme has been 'formal gear' -
great food - a variety of dancing (including rock and roll and a bit of old
time dancing). That's not to say that future theme won't change in order to
keep it a fun and dynamic event. It also provides the club with an
opportunity to honour and thank the very hard working committee and dance
teachers for their efforts during the year.
2009 Dinner Dance was held on the 31st
October at Ipswich Golf Club function rooms where we celebrated Just Rock
Ipswich's Los Vegas Night
